Summary of the 2023 amendment:
The updated Civil Registry Law sets out the following requirements for naturalisation in Cyprus:
- Highly skilled foreign workers with 4 years of residence may apply with a B1 Greek language certificate; those with 5 years of residence may apply with an A2 certificate
- Other third-country nationals must have 8 years of residence before applying
- All applicants must have completed 12 months of continuous residence prior to the application, with no more than 90 days of absence permitted during that period
