Naturalisation as a Spouse of a Cypriot Citizen
If you are married to a Cypriot citizen, you can apply for citizenship onder the following conditions:
Eligibility Requirements
Marriage Duration:
You must have been marries for at least 3 years.
For Spouses Living Abroad:
- If you live outside Cyprus, you can apply after 3 years of marriage.
- You must explain why you want Cypriot citizenship.
- If you have been marries for 5 years and have at least one child, no explanation is needed.
Residency in Cyprus:
You need to have lived in Cyprus for 2 years before applying.
Required Documents for Application
To apply, you will need to gather the following documents:
Original birth certificate*
Original criminal record*
Original marriage certificate*
Children's birth certificates* (if applicable)
Copies of both spouses' passports
Certificate of Cypriot citizenship of the Cypriot spouse (if applicable)
A signes statement confirming harmonious living
A statement of cohabitation from the local authority
Two application forms (one must have €8.54 in stamps)
Receipt of fee payment
