Individuals who submitted a Category F application Cyprus several years ago may receive an official notification requesting additional documents. Responding within the deadline specified by the authorities is essential, as failure to comply may lead to the closure of the application.

Documents Required by the Migration Department
Applicants are typically requested to provide:
- Valid passports for the main applicant and all dependent family members;
- A valid residence permit if currently residing in Cyprus;
- Updated proof of annual income from abroad;
- A recent title deed or tenancy agreement for accommodation in Cyprus;
- Criminal record certificates for the applicant and spouse, where applicable, issued by both the country of origin and country of current residence;
- Recent bank statements from a Cyprus banking institution.
What Does This Mean for Category F Applicants?
The renewed examination of pending Category F applications demonstrates that the authorities are actively processing cases that have remained under review for several years.
Current reports indicate that applications submitted as far back as 2020 are now being examined. Receiving a request for updated documentation is generally considered a positive sign, indicating that the file is progressing through the review stage.
Applicants should begin collecting the requested documents immediately to avoid unnecessary delays.
Criminal Record Certificates
One of the most time-sensitive requirements is obtaining criminal record certificates.
Applicants must secure certificates from both their country of origin and their current country of residence. These documents must be properly certified and translated into the required language before submission.
For applicants residing in the United Kingdom, the acceptable document is an ACRO Police Certificate.
